Before you can log in, you need to install MetaMask on your device.
Visit the official MetaMask website.
Click Download and choose your browser.
Add the extension and create your wallet.
Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Search MetaMask.
Download and install the app.
Create a new wallet or import an existing one.
After installation, you will receive a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase. Store it in a safe place because it is the only way to recover your wallet.
Logging in to MetaMask is simple and only takes a few seconds. Here’s how:
Click on the MetaMask extension icon in your browser or launch the mobile app.
Type the password you created during wallet setup. This password only unlocks your device—your actual private keys remain encrypted.
Once you click Unlock, you will instantly gain access to your wallet, assets, and dApps.
If you are using a new device or reinstalling MetaMask, you can log in by importing your wallet:
Choose Import Wallet.
Enter your 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
Create a new password.
Access your wallet.
Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. MetaMask will never ask for it during normal login.
If you forget your password, you must restore your wallet using your Secret Recovery Phrase.
Try:
Restarting your browser
Updating MetaMask
Clearing browser cache
Update the app or reinstall it and use your recovery phrase to log back in.
Switch to the correct network (Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, etc.) under Settings > Networks.
MetaMask is secure, but your safety depends on how you use it. Follow these key security practices:
Never store your recovery phrase online (email, cloud, or screenshots).
Enable biometric login in the mobile app for extra security.
Avoid clicking unknown links or connecting to suspicious dApps.
Use hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor) for large holdings.
Always verify website URLs before logging in.
